Children and Young People’s Counselling is for any young person who is having problems. Whether it’s depression, mental health concerns, parental separation, bullying, substance misuse, poor school attendance, offending behaviour, domestic violence or any other issues with parents or pupils at school.
I work across the county within primary and secondary schools providing one to one and group counselling to children from 4 years upwards. Using an integrated approach I combine cognitive behavioural, solution-focused and person centred counselling to meet the diverse range of needs presented in the session.
Specialist counselling is available for those identified or presenting with Aspergers.
Art and play therapy are also used predominantly with the 3 -11 year age range. Play therapy provides a way for children to express their experiences and feelings through a natural, self-guided, self-healing process. As children’s experiences and knowledge are often communicated through play, it becomes an important vehicle for them to know and accept themselves and others.
Please see the contact page to make a referral. All referrals are dealt with within 24 hours and an initial meeting is arranged with the school or parent within seven days.
